Industrial gas distributor Maine Oxy has acquired an equity position in Pennsylvania-based Torco Supply Co., an industrial equipment supplier.
Announced today (3rd December), the news is part of a wider strategic partnership between the two US businesses.
For Maine Oxy, which has historically served much of New England, the deal expands its footprint into the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Mid-Atlantic region of the US covers the overlap between the Northeastern and Southeastern states. It takes in seven states: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, plus the nation’s capital, Washington, DC.
Tim Robb, President of Torco Supply Co, said the partnership provides Torco with the resources and support to continue its growth trajectory.
“We’re excited to enhance our capabilities while maintaining our commitment to serving our customers with the highest level of quality and reliability.”
The companies will continue to operate independently.
In 2023, Maine Oxy filled over 80,000 cylinders in Naugatuck and over 200,000 in Auburn. In addition to its two main facilities, Maine Oxy also has 17 stores, with the most recent having opened in Stratford, Connecticut back in 2022.
