The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has updated its guidance on the safe filling of gas cylinders for beverage dispense.
The national trade body has revised its Code of Practice 32, ‘The Safe Filling of Food Gas cylinders for Beverage Dispense,’ to provide the latest advice on the subject.
The 30-page document includes information on safe filling practices, cylinder identification, handling, corrosion prevention and product quality.
Doug Thornton, Chief Executive of the BCGA, said, “The safety standards laid down in the Code of Practice are the minimum for safe working practice and the importance of the skill and competence of operators, supervisors and managerial staff is stressed.”
CP32 also highlights the legal requirement for any premises that fill gas cylinders for use with food or beverages to register with their local authorities.
This is the third revision of CP32 and the latest version can be downloaded from the publications area of the BCGA website, here.
